Gaining Ground is housed in John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church's fellowship hall at 28001 Evergreen Road, Southfield, MI. This free after-school program operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. during the school year. Applications for enrollment will be available by September 12, 2017 and can be picked up at McIntyre Elementary School, Birney K-8 school, and John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church.

We provide a safe, nurturing environment for students who can benefit from additional academic support. We are looking forward to a productive 2017-2018 school year. Adults who would like to help our students reach their full academic potential may want to volunteer some of their time tutoring students individually or in small groups. Interested volunteers may contact Linnea Beal at 313-445-7717, Waynette Sims at 248-423-3472, or Gladys Green at 248-945-0332. We welcome your support. Financial donations are also welcome to provide snacks and enrichment materials for students.
